Wow...
As the hustle and bustle of the holiday season begins to take on momentum, it can be easy to get caught up in it all.
The expression, “coming in hot” comes to mind a lot as I move from one thing to another on the calendar or the to-do list. Feeling like I’m always in motion, but not really enjoying the moment.
For me it isn’t an enjoyable feeling or something I’m proud of -
especially since the time-orientation of my Enneagram Type is present focused.
I realize in it all, it’s a great opportunity for self-reflection.
When I slow down to actually reflect, I see different things at different times.
Perhaps it’s too many “yeses”, sub-par time management, procrastination, exhaustion, or even fear fueling the frantic.
It rarely seems to be the “feel-good” things piling up in my life…how about for you?
Regardless of what it is, I’ve decided to redefine my “coming in hot” to be intentionally reflective.
Here is what I came up with…
Happy
Offering
Thankfulness
H - I’m going to be mindful in my situations to posture a HAPPY heart. Abounding in love with joy, glad-tidings, peace, and whatever other wonderful Christmas season emotions fills you.
O - OFFERING what I have to give (and it doesn’t have to cost me anything). Sure, it can be generosity in a material form, but it can also be kindness, a smile, encouragement, patience, courtesy, a listening ear, and genuine concern.
T - And in each situation, I am still choosing THANKFULNESS. This one action alone reduces stress, increases mood, and betters our health and relationships.
So as I race from one activity or task to another, I will be mindful of what my “coming in H.O.T.” is truly representing.
Here’s a HOT tip (see what I did there? 😄)...when we slow down and embrace what is present, we can transform it.
I’ll be transforming the crazy chaotic into a happy heart, one H.O.T. moment at a time.
Is there something you can embrace to shift into a meaningful transformation this season?

With a happy heart,
