Well, we are wrapping up our “A New Lens on Every Relationship” series.

Thank you for journeying through this series on communication with us!

Whether you connected most with parenting, teamwork, sibling bonds, or your partnership, we hope these insights and tools helped you see your relationships through a more compassionate lens.

Before we go, here’s a quick recap on the 3 Communication Stances - because the more we understand our own patterns, the better we can grow with grace.

Assertive Stance (Types 3, 7, 8)

Assertive communicators bring energy, confidence, and a forward-moving drive.

Strength: They take initiative and inspire momentum.

Blind Spot: May overlook others’ emotional cues or push ahead without checking for alignment.

Growth Step: Slow down and make room for others to share. Practice pausing before jumping in, and ask follow-up questions that draw others out.

Dutiful Stance (Types 1, 2, 6)

Dutiful communicators are responsible, loyal, and attuned to others’ needs and expectations.

Strength: They bring structure, care, and dedication to relationships.

Blind Spot: May suppress their own needs or become overly concerned with doing things “right.”

Growth Step: Get clear on what you actually think, feel, and want—then share it. Your needs and opinions are just as important as being supportive or responsible.

Withdrawn Stance (Types 4, 5, 9)

Withdrawn communicators are reflective, thoughtful, and intuitive.

Strength: They offer deep insight and calm presence.

Blind Spot: May pull back when overwhelmed or struggle to express needs directly.

Growth Step: Lean in and speak up, even if you don’t feel fully ready. Trust that your voice brings value and that connection often grows through imperfect conversation.

Understanding the Enneagram Communication Stances - Assertive, Dutiful, and Withdrawn - gives us language for what often goes unspoken. When we know how we (and others) tend to show up, we can choose connection over confusion.

Tell Us About It…let us know what you learned, what was challenging, what you put into action, or even what you didn’t agree with after reading this series. We love hearing from you!

Want to keep the conversation going?...If you’re curious to explore more about your stance, your Enneagram type, or what might be blocking connection or clarity in your life—we’re here for that!

Sometimes the best way to understand yourself (and enhance your relationships, purpose, and spark for life) is to have a coach walk alongside you.

Whether you’re in a season of growth or feeling stuck, coaching can offer fresh perspective and compassionate support. It’s not about fixing—it’s about discovering more of who you already are.

Thanks again for being part of this community. We’re so glad you’re here…and we’re cheering you on every step of the way.

Let’s keep learning to listen with grace and speak with intention.

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom. Though it cost all you have, get understanding.” Proverbs 4:7 (NIV)

This verse honors the journey you as a reader have been on…seeking insight not just for knowledge’s sake, but for the sake of more meaningful relationships and understanding to enhance your life. Yay YOU!
